Volunteers

The Historical Society is always looking for volunteers to serve in a number of ways and we try to make use of each person’s individual skills. Our most pressing need is for people to agree to serve as docents or receptionists, greeting visitors and sharing Tarpon Springs history with them.

We ask for a commitment of at least three hours a week. The Society provides training, a docent manual, and a written job description.

The need for volunteers who serve on a regular basis has increased in recent years.  We need docent/receptionists to work with the public each week in order to have all galleries of the Depot open Wednesday-Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. If you might like to consider assisting us in this way, call us at 727-943-4624 or fill out the volunteer application. We would be happy to discuss this vital volunteer opportunity with you.

The Society will also need  new volunteers to work on the  projects and tasks involved in operating an historical society. Opportunities exist in the Archives, in oral history projects, in working on special events, as well as in a number of other areas.  Let us know how you would like to help. We have a job suited to every potential volunteer! Please call 727-943-4624 for more information, or  click here to fill out a volunteer registration form to mail to us, or bring into the museum. We would love to meet you!
