TSAHS is looking for applicants for the City’s Local Historic Marker Program. Interested parties wishing to submit an application should be prepared to detail the historic significance of the structure, organization, person, event, site, or object.
This is the criteria to qualify for a historic marker:
- Buildings/structures must be at least 50 years old.
- Historical – was it associated with an event or person of note?
- Architectural – does it display unique architectural details from a certain period in Tarpon Springs’ past?
- Social – does is depict a characteristic way in which people lived in the area?
