VOLUNTEERS |
| Volunteers Needed!!
The Historical Society is always looking for volunteers to serve in a number of ways and we try to make use of each person’s individual skills. Our most pressing need is for people to agree to serve as docents or receptionists, greeting visitors and sharing Tarpon Springs history with them. We ask for a commitment of at least three hours a week. The Society provides training, a docent manual, and a written job description. |
With the reopening of the Historical Society Depot Museum, the need for volunteers who serve on a regular basis will increase dramatically. A number of people have expressed a willingness to help in this way, and they are being contacted and scheduled currently. We will need 20 docent/receptionists to work with the public each week in order to have all galleries of the Depot open Tuesday-Saturday from 11am to 4pm. If you might like to consider assisting us in this way, call us at 943-4624. We would be delighted to discuss this very vital volunteer opportunity with you. The Society will also need many new volunteers to work on the numerous
projects and tasks that are involved in operating an historical society.
Opportunities exist in the Archives, in oral history projects, in working
on special events, as well as in a number of other areas. The Society
would also benefit from a volunteer who could serve as volunteer coordinator,
involved chiefly in scheduling. Let us know how you would like to help.
We have a job suited to every potential volunteer. Please call 943-4624
for more information. |
